Healthcare for Internationals

Finding a mental healthcare professional

Generally the GP will suggest a Primary or Secondary Mental Health provider, but you have the freedom to choose your own provider.

Beware, however, that not all providers have been registered by the Dutch Health Authority, in which case their services will not be covered by Dutch basic health insurance. Others are registered but are not contracted by all insurance providers. In this case you may not be fully refunded, if you have an in-kind policy (Natura polis). Always check if your insurance provider covers the services of your mental health provider of choice.

Healthcare for internationals

Healthcare for internationals (H4i) is a network of Dutch healthcare providers, including mental healthcare, that are making an effort to close the gap between Dutch healthcare and the needs and expectations of internationals.
