GEZZuid of Amsterdam joins H4i

GEZZuid, a primary healthcare organization in Amsterdam has joined Healthcare for internationals. GEZZuid represents 25 GP practices, as well as other primary healthcare providers, in Amsterdam Buitenveldert, Zuid and Rivierenbuurt. GEZZuid and selected practices have started a project to better meet the needs and expectations of internationals. Early August Katinka Prince, board member of GEZZuid and Dirk Jan Frijling of H4i have signed the membership agreement.

“We strongly believe the International Community needs to have a stronger voice in the H4i network” says Rebeca Guerra Martínez, an international from Mexico. She is leading the initiative to set up an international board that will provide advice and feedback to H4i on its activities in cities and regions across the Netherlands. She is calling on internationals to become a member of this board. Read more about Rebeca and her ideas for this new board, that is getting all support needed from H4i.

H4i Community Platform takes off

September 1st this information platform was launched with detailed information on Dutch Healthcare and health Insurance. In the first weeks more than 5000 unique visitors found their way to this site, resulting in over 12.000 page views. This platform is a response to the needs of internationals for better information. Research done by the International Community Advisory Panel (not related to H4i) showed that

  • Only 33.5% of internationals felt well, or relatively well-informed about the health insurance system;
  • More than 60% felt they were not, or insufficiently informed about, the healthcare system.

Podcast on Dutch healthcare

H4i was interviewed by Here in Holland. Only 32% on internationals say they trust Dutch doctors. The podcast zooms in on why this is and what H4i is doing to close this gap between Dutch Healthcare and the needs and expectations of internationals. Listen to this podcast.

SGE International welcomes its 4000th international patient.

SGE International in Eindhoven has registered its 4000th patient. His name is Gerard Vazquez, coming from Barcelona. “I am happy I can explain all in English, I felt understood by the GP and she explained everything to me” he said. SGE International opened in November 2015, since then we have seen a steady and sometimes booming growth.
